At Redgate we have a strong belief that people are always more important than profits, so we have prepared new policies to safeguard our patients and staff. Our advice has been prepared by healthcare professionals and we now ask that all patients and staff adhere to the following new protocols.
We believe these new systems are the safest in our sector and a true sign that we put people before profits.
Constant Deep Clean
Every surface in the practice will be continually cleaned, this includes all glasses frames, doors, equipment and floors.
Over 60’s and at risk patients : 9:30 -11:30
We will now reserve appointments between 09:30 to 11:30 for patients who are 60+ or at risk. These appointments are structured such that only one patient will be in the practice at any one time. Outside of these hours, we recommend that over 60’s or patients who are “at risk” (long term health problems, weakened immune systems, pregnant) do not attend and self isolate in line with the NHS and Government advice. This advice is evolving constantly, so please keep checking the NHS website for the COVID-19 condition, which is found here.
In order to limit social contact, we are now only booking every other appointment slots. We have also organised the waiting areas such that patients are at least 1 meter apart.

We understand that this is inconvenient and that we have taken a different approach compared to the large high street chain Opticians. However, we are first and foremost health care professionals and we can not ignore the basic facts that are now very apparent. We will do everything in our power to protect our patients and staff.
